Welcome to Jones'n

Welcome to the world of custom high-end guitars, basses, and acoustics handcrafted in Granville, MA. Dive into our origin story, meet the passionate team behind each instrument, and explore our commitment to quality and craftsmanship.

As the non-drummer in the family, Nick began playing guitar and bass at a young age and has grown up building, modding, and refinishing guitars and drums alike.  After 17 years as the owner and Master Craftsman at the drum company, Nick was looking to make a change and decided to turn his hobby and passion for guitars into a new career.

Background

Instrument building is woven into the DNA of founder Nick Jones. As a 7th-generation descendant of the oldest drum company in the world, Nick grew up around woodworking and high-end instrument manufacturing.

Established in 2023, in the same nationally registered historic property that his family has built the finest instruments in for generations, Nick has set his sights on bringing his family’s heritage, integrity, and renown craftsmanship into the world of luthiery.

The majority of the wood we use is sourced from local species and either milled on our own property or purchased from local suppliers. Our exotic woods come from a nearby lumberyard that stocks one of the most amazing collections of rare woods on the planet. We are extremely proud to have partnered Hipshot USA as our only provider of tuners and bridges, and with two fine US companies - Gemini Pickups and Seymour Duncan - to provide our pickups.

Proudly Local

When you’re constantly surrounded by history and antiquity it has an affect on you.  You develop a pride and appreciation for things crafted by hand and made from the surrounding community.  From the start the ethos at Jones’n has been to work independently, source locally, support other American manufacturers, and leave a minimal impact on the environment.

For our finishes we prefer to keep things mostly natural and work with low to no-VOC based linseed oils, waxes made from beeswax sourced from an apiary on our property as well as low-VOC, non-aerosol lacquers.
